Qiuli Li, MD, PhD (Head and Neck Surgery)

Dr. Li received his MD and PhD degrees from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences and Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou in 1999 and 2008 respectively and is an associated professor and tutor of master candidate at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center now.
His research interests mainly focus on basic, translational and clinical research of thyroid carcinoma, surgical treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and reconstruction of defects following head and neck tumor ablation.
He was a visiting scholar at Department of Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong and at Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Prince Wales Hospital, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009. He was also a visiting scientist at Department of Head and Neck Surgery, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center from September 2014 to August, 2016-8 in the USA, where he received systemic and standard basic and translational research training in Head and Neck Oncology.
He was involved in a global multicenter clinical trial: A Double-Blind, Randomized Phase III Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Sorafenib Compared to Placebo in Locally Advanced/Metastatic RAI-Refractory Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (DECISION 14295) sponsored by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a sub-investigator. He has participated 2 National Natural Science Foundations of China (NSFC), and hold 1 Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, 1 Science and Technology Planning Project of Guangdong Province, and 1 Medical Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has published more than 10 SCI papers.
